That plant can be livertoxic in case of internal overdosage.
Hardy perennial of the wet and shaded places from 0,30 to 0,80 m which one uses the roots and the leaves.

Comfrey is vulnerary, used on abscesses, ulcerations of the skin, chronic suppurations, cuts, internal bleedings (stomach ulcers), affections of the mouth. It is also used in compress on the distorsions, contusions and speeds up consolidation of the fractures.
Also : Bronchitis, angina sore-throat, diarrhoea.
In external use : Burns, dermatosis, psoriasis, ulcers.



Infusion : One spoonful for one bowl of water ; 2 cups a day.

Decoction : 100 g for one liter of water in lotion or compress to wash the wounds.

Cataplasm : 50 g of roots powder, with a small quantity of water and some oil drops, to apply on the painful part and fix with a bandage.
