This plant can be dangerous in case of overdose. Hardy perennial of the underwoods and shaded places from 0,30 to 0,60 m which one uses the roots and leaves. Betony is especially used in fumigation against infections of respiratory tracts and emphysema. Also: Nicotinism, hepatic insufficiency. In external use : Wounds, ulcers, abscesses.
